You’re probably wondering what is going on in my life. Well, let’s start simple. I am 1) living out of a tent and showering with a bucket and a hose, 2) living with 40 Christ loving people who play a huge role in building me up, and 3) I am seeking God everyday.

There is so much I have learned in the last two weeks. Briefly, examples are that I am a child of the one true king, I do not have to be seen to be loved, and that I am not alone in my walk with Christ.

I could spend so much time talking about those subjects and more, but I am going to keep this blog to what I am doing in my life at this point. As I mentioned, I have given up my comfort and possessions to love God and love others. Doing so, God has spoken clearly to me that I am not to miss what He has for me. After getting slapped in the face by that word, I know I need to spend more time in the word. Doing that has caused me to learn SO much! It’s a domino effect.

Besides seeking God, my squad and I have been doing life together and we are doing it well! I often take a moment to reflect and realize we have laughed until we cry, but also been so vulnerable with each other and experiencing the freedom of Jesus together. We gather to eat, play violent games inside where we stub our toes, and we get to sit side by side and learn about God. Whether we are crying tears of joy, or sharing some of the darkest secrets we have, we walk with each other.

Anyways, camping out is fun until your tent floods, shoes get splashed by mud in the rain, and then you have to go shower using a bucket of water from Jack Frost’s freezer. Jokes aside, camping outside has been great, when it doesn’t rain, we all hammock together and sleep under the stars. The boys and I then rise at 5:30 ish to get some quick cardio and push ups in or whatever. Then we hit the showers.

I’m on the committee that decides what the squad will do for exercise on Monday’s. We are called “Move Yo Body!” This past monday, we played capture the flag indoors, and I have never been more sweaty after playing capture the flag.

That’s about all I have time for today, thanks for reading!

  4. Sounds like you’re off to a great start! I’m so glad to hear that you are having fun, growing in your walk, and still getting that workout in. 😉 This one is invaluable: “You do not have to be seen to be loved”. Keep that one in your pocket, Colin.
