WOW! What does a World Racer expect from 4 days of boot camp. The name boot camp is a little scary isn’t it…? Yeah it was a little scary for me too. From the freezing cold bucket showers, to the beads of sweat on my forehead from simply existing, Jesus proved to be worth it. I learned so much at boot camp, I learned that Jesus doesn’t exist to comfort us. In fact, following Jesus requires the opposite. Luke 9:23 says “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily…” Sometimes this means you have to give up what you love. I personally love eating a lot until I’m full, warm long showers, air conditioning, and seeing myself in the mirror. These are some (and only some) of the things I had to give up only during boot camp, imagine the rest of my life with Jesus. Peter was a fisherman, he loved fishing. Peter had to put down his net for who knows how long to follow Jesus. Peter wasn’t sure when he would get to perform his passion again. But it was certainly worth the small price to follow Him. The small sacrifices of my personal comfort were far worth everything I learned from boot camp as a whole. I learned so much from the leaders, worship experience, teachings, and also fellow racers. Jesus really moved in my life.

  4. So true! I didn’t realize it, but I missed a mirror more than anything? It was definitely a wake up call and again only a taste of shat we need to be ready and excited to give up for the serving others and kingdom!

  5. May you be called deeper and deeper still by the God who made you and loves you…

  6. Thank you, Jesus! Your post reminds me of John 3:30, “He must become greater; I must become less.” Essentially, more of You and less of me. I love that this is just the start of a sweet, sweet journey alongside Jesus.
